We would like to welcome you to our Marriage Ministry website. This will grow over time as we grow with it. If you want to know a little about us then go to our contact us page. We have a little more info on us there but we will talk about the call here on this page.
As you will have read from the other page, I went through 19 years of addictions with the first 5 years of our marriage as a part of that. Sandy had to hold on strong in those early years because I was not that great as a husband the times I would drink or do drugs. I didn’t do it every day but I did drink and do drugs around 4 times a week.
Sandy said that she just kept believing that I would change and she leaned on God the whole time. She knew the kind of person I could be because the days I was sober, I was great to her she said. I don’t remember a whole lot in those early days because I was out of it so much.
Sandy and I both felt the call of God to start a marriage ministry back around 2010 or so. The call was strong but I was scared. God even gave us this name “Inspired Marriage” back then and we built a site for this. After a little time, I got scared and completely backed away from running with our call.
This is NOT my call but both of our calls because we are a team and you will see down the road what we mean by that. We eventually lost hope with the ministry because we went other routes and tried to push the call away. We let go of this domain and someone else picked the domain up for several years.
Fast forward to today, we now have a 5-year-old son and he is our world. We recently felt the call of God nudging us again and this time we are serious. We feel like we are even stronger now and we have family experience too since we have a 5-year-old.
He is a blast and I remember people tellong us how much a child will change your life. I always said I know but in reality, I didn’t know! I know now but it’s been such a fun adventure with Lil Chris. Life for us these days are so much fun but we are missing the joy that God wants to bring us through his purpose for our lives and our marriage and that is this ministry with books and resources for couples.
What are our plans? Our goal is to build a marriage ministry that pours into married couples that will help them rekindle that Christ-Filled Passion they once felt for each other. There are way too many marriages that are falling apart today.
Why us? Believe me, I ask God that all the time. I have fought this calling but God just won’t let it out of our hearts for some reason so we have to move forward with is.
I do know that I have experience from several sides of this. First I allowed my addictions to destroy my first marriage so I can show people things not to do. I also almost destroyed the marriage now but was able to turn things around so I will be able to talk about how to to your mess into something very powerful because many marriages are a mess and we can help!
Sandy will be able to talk about how she kept the Faith even though it was not looking good for our marriage. She held strong when I could not. She filled that gap until I finally listened to God and changed my life. She loved me so much that I had no choice to change.
We believe that we have something to share and we believe that God called us to share. This ministry will be built around articles, audios, videos, conferences & even marriage retreats! One of the books that God called us to write is called “Inspired marriage”. The same as the site as that will be our platform for many things to come.
Everything we do will come from a Christian standpoint. As a child of God, we can’t leave him out of the picture because he is the reason we are still together. He took a mess of a marriage that we had the first 5 years to now 14 years married together and we can’t imagine how our marriage can get better. Many people would have told her to leave at the beginning but now many of those do not believe! Only God can change us 180 degrees and we know with a little work, God can change your marriage too!
Our goal is to one day tell our story at churches and groups so if you are interested in that feel free to contact us to discuss what we can do. Right now we write for several things we do and its exciting!
